The AI Systems Guy

tl;dr

One piece of content becomes a blog, social posts, an email, and a video script. The repurposing workflow.

A content repurposing workflow ai system takes one piece of original content and turns it into 5-10 pieces across different formats and platforms. Without rewriting everything from scratch.

Creating original content is hard. Repurposing it is a system.

The Source Content

Start with your highest-effort content. A blog post, a podcast episode, a video, or a presentation. This is your pillar content. Everything else derives from it.

The pillar should be substantial. At least 1,500 words or 15 minutes of audio/video. You need enough material to extract multiple angles.

The Repurposing Map

From one blog post, AI extracts:

Three to five social media posts, each highlighting a different takeaway. An email newsletter version that summarizes the key insight and links to the full post. A Twitter/X thread that walks through the argument step by step. A LinkedIn post that frames the topic for a professional audience. Pull quotes formatted as shareable images.

From a podcast episode, add: a blog post from the transcript, short video clips of the best moments, and audiogram snippets.

The AI Workflow

Feed the pillar content to Claude or GPT-4o with platform-specific instructions.

"Extract three LinkedIn posts from this blog. Each should focus on a different takeaway. Use a hook in the first line. Keep under 200 words. No hashtags. Conversational tone."

"Write a Twitter thread that walks through the main argument in 8 tweets. Each tweet should stand alone but build on the previous one."

"Draft an email newsletter version. Lead with the most surprising finding. Keep under 300 words. End with a link to the full post."

Automation

Build this as a Make or Zapier workflow. When a new blog post publishes, it triggers the repurposing sequence automatically.

The AI generates drafts for each platform. Drafts go into a review queue. You approve, edit if needed, and schedule.

Total time from pillar to 8 pieces of derived content: 30 minutes of review instead of 4 hours of writing.

Quality Control

Each platform has different rules. LinkedIn rewards long-form. Twitter rewards punchy. Email rewards directness.

Build platform-specific voice profiles so the AI adapts the content properly. A copy-paste from blog to LinkedIn never performs well. Adapted content does.

Repurposing is not about working harder. It is about getting more from the work you already did.
