The AI Systems Guy

tl;dr

Track every mention of your brand across social, news, and forums. AI monitors and alerts.

Someone talked about your brand today. Was it positive, negative, or an opportunity? If you do not have an automated brand mention tracking guide implemented, you will never know until it is too late.

Knowing what people say about you lets you respond while it still matters.

Where to Monitor

Social media platforms. Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram. People talk about brands constantly on social.

Forums and communities. Reddit, industry forums, Quora. These conversations are often more honest than social media.

News and blogs. Industry publications, local news, blog posts. Google Alerts catches some of this but misses a lot.

Review sites. Google Reviews, Trustpilot, G2, industry-specific review platforms.

The Monitoring System

Set up search queries for your brand name, common misspellings, your key product names, and your personal name if you are the face of the business.

A script checks each platform's API or search function on a schedule. Daily for social media, weekly for forums and blogs.

Each mention gets logged with: source, date, author, content, and sentiment (positive, negative, neutral). AI determines the sentiment automatically.

The Sentiment Layer

Raw mentions are noise without sentiment analysis. AI reads each mention and classifies it.

Positive: "Just started using [brand] and the results are incredible. 47 leads in the first week."

Negative: "Disappointed with [brand]. Expected better communication. Considering switching."

Opportunity: "Anyone know a good AI operations provider? Looking for help with ad management."

Each classification triggers a different response. Positive mentions get amplified. Negative mentions get addressed. Opportunities get outreach.

Response Workflows

Positive mention: Thank them publicly. Share the mention (with permission). Add to your social proof library.

Negative mention: Respond quickly, empathetically, and publicly. Take the resolution to DM. Document the issue internally.

Opportunity: Respond with value, not a sales pitch. Answer their question. If appropriate, mention how you can help.

Weekly Brand Health Report

Compile the week's mentions into a summary. Total mentions, sentiment breakdown, notable mentions, and trends.

"Brand was mentioned 23 times this week. 18 positive, 3 neutral, 2 negative. Both negative mentions were about response time. Recommend: address response time SLA."

That weekly pulse keeps you connected to how the market perceives your brand.
