The AI Systems Guy
tl;dr
Generate ad copy that leads with customer results and testimonials to build trust before the pitch.
Prospects trust other customers more than they trust your marketing. Social proof ads capitalize on this by leading with real results instead of promises. They are consistently among the highest-performing ad types across industries.
This prompt generates social proof ad copy that highlights results naturally. Use it to prompt write social proof ads that feel authentic rather than manufactured.
The Prompt
Write social proof ad variations for the following:
PRODUCT/SERVICE: [What you sell]
PLATFORM: [Meta, Google, LinkedIn]
TARGET AUDIENCE: [Who sees this ad]
CUSTOMER RESULTS: [List 3-5 specific results from real customers]
- Customer type: [industry/role]
- Result: [specific metric or outcome]
- Timeframe: [how long it took]
TESTIMONIAL QUOTES: [Any direct quotes you have permission to use]
CTA: [What you want them to do]
Generate 5 ad variations using different social proof formats:
1. SINGLE STORY: Center the entire ad around one customer's transformation. Before state > what they did > result.
2. DATA COMPILATION: Lead with an aggregate stat. "[X] businesses have achieved [result] using [product]." Then break down the typical results.
3. TESTIMONIAL-LED: Open with the customer's exact words (in quotes). Build the ad around their experience.
4. COMPARISON: "Before [product]: [pain state]. After [product]: [result state]." Using real customer data.
5. PEER IDENTIFICATION: "If you are a [same type as customer], this is what [customer] achieved..." Help the prospect see themselves in the success story.
For each variation provide:
- Primary text (platform-appropriate length)
- Headline
- Description
- Image concept suggestion
- Which customer result it features
Rules:
- Use real numbers only. Never fabricate or exaggerate results.
- Attribution must be accurate (first name + industry is fine, full details only with permission)
- The result must be the hook, not the product. Lead with "Sarah cut her CPL by 60%" not "Our software is great"
- Include enough context that the reader understands how the result was achieved
- CTA should feel like a natural next step, not a hard sell
- No "you too can achieve..." framing. Show results. Let the prospect draw their own conclusion.
What Makes Social Proof Ads Work
Specificity. "Great results" means nothing. "$67 cost per lead, down from $180, in 90 days" means everything. The more specific the number and timeframe, the more believable the ad.
Relatability. The prospect needs to see someone like themselves. A Fortune 500 case study does not help a 10-person agency. Match the social proof to the target audience.
The Permission Layer
Before using any customer result in advertising, get written permission. A simple email: "We would love to feature your results in our marketing. Can we reference [specific result] with your first name and industry?" Most happy customers say yes.
Testing Social Proof vs Other Angles
Run social proof ads alongside other angles (pain-based, curiosity-based, offer-based). Track which performs best for your audience. For most B2B businesses, social proof wins in the consideration stage where prospects are comparing options. For awareness, other angles might outperform.
